Artist rendition of the magnetosphere
We've opened up the discussions about the possibility of a massive electromagnetic pulse hitting the earth to cause massive destruction or the possible extinction of our planet earth. Those ideas have only been sprinkled but I have barely explored the topic. This blog will continuously explore and update the findings from research, inspiration and God given knowledge about these prophetic cataclysmic events.
I suppose I might as well say it, we are talking about the Apocalypse events in John's Biblical Revelation. This prophetic and historic spiritual book will serve as the foundation and premise on which all theories are based. Whatever conclusions are drawn will be subject to the scrutiny of the spirit of truth.
Electromagnetic pulses have three phases, one of which is the emission of gamma rays. I'm neither a scientist nor a quantum physicist, so I'll look up a correct definition of "gamma rays". Searching Wikipedia, this is the description I found there:
"Gamma rays (denoted as γ) are electromagnetic radiation of high energy. They are produced by sub-atomic particle interactions, such as electron-positron annihilation, neutral pion decay, radioactive decay, fusion, fission or inverse Compton scattering in astrophysical processes. Gamma rays typically have frequencies above 1019 Hz and therefore energies above 100 keV and wavelength less than 10 picometers, often smaller than an atom. Gamma radioactive decay photons commonly have energies of a few hundred KeV, and are almost always less than 10 MeV in energy."
Whew! For the novice just seeking some information that will help them better understand gamma rays, that's a whole lot of technical scientific terms. That just means we have more homework to do. One term at a time, okay?
Take a breath for a moment and watch this video that shows one perspective about the rapture, translation and our eternal destination. I found it on this blog, Revelation 7 Thunders.
